Starting a plant based diet, getting flexible and drawing more. These are some of my new year resolutions. I don’t really know what I think about resolutions and if I believe in them. Yet every year I start a list of all the things I wished I did more of(or less of, hahaha). This year the list is an odd mix of things, but I thought I might live up too them more if I share them with you all.
This resolution has been on my list for years. I really want to be flexible but I don’t want to put in the time (I much prefer to be a couch-potato consuming content and food). I just want to magically be flexible!
So this year the plan is to put in the work and get flexible. I’ve heard that you should make your resolutions more specific. So I think my goal for the year is to either get my mid split or my front split this year.
Waking up early
This one ties together with a lot of the other resolutions I have. I want to get up early during the week, so I can get things done in the morning. Attending the architecture school means that I sometimes have some pretty late days. I’ve leant that I don’t always have the motivation to work on some of my personal projects when I come home. Therefor I could use the time in the morning to get some of that out of the way. For example stretching.
Get better at blogging
I started this blog to have a creative outlet, but I’ve neglected it. So in 2018 I want to get more organized and better at blogging. I’ve already planned out the posts for the next six months. But I have to work on getting them done at the right time and uploaded. I’ll have to plan better so I have pre-written content for when school gets hectic.
Get good at drawing again
When I was younger I was really good at drawing. As I got older I kind of neglected it (yes I know; I neglect things I like to do). And now when I draw I don’t know what to draw. I think it’s partly because I don’t feel good enough anymore. It’s like I’ve gotten worse, which I know is not the case. I’m just out of practise and because of that I haven’t evolved since I was like 14. So I know I just have to start again but it seems like a huge hurdle to get over.
Looking into vegan diets and becoming more plant based
Since I moved to Aarhus I’ve lived fairly vegetarian just out of economic reasons. Recently I started watching some youtube channels showing their vegan diets and I’ve been intrigued. I then started to research a bit. I have to say that I’ve been eating meat and animal products, with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth ever since. This year I’ll explore the world of plant based foods and see what works for me. I don’t think I’ll go completely vegan but I’m not opposed to it (as I used to be).
These are some of the things I want to strive to better about myself. What are your resolutions? Do you believe in resolutions?
